DIVADLO ARCHA
DIVADLO ARCHA
The name Archa refers not accidentally to the Old Testament story about Noah. Various animals found themselves together on board Noah´s boat, which carried a potential for a new life on its board during the dramatic metamorphosis of the world. Similarly, the Archa Theatre wants to be a place open to various, often unexpected encounters. Their goal is to explore the possibilities of arts, give novel ideas full play and capture life at the beginning of the third millennium in different ways.
The Archa Theatre was inaugurated in 1994 with a joint performance of Mina Tanaka and John Cale. The very first performance significantly indicated the dramaturgy of the theatre: the meeting of a Japanese dancer and a musician from the United States symbolized a connection of cultures, genres, and continents.
The theatre performs modern as well as classical plays. Organizing concerts. A café and a theatre bar are a part of the theatre.
