THEATRE IN CELETNÁ

The theatre building is located in the very heart of the historical Prague, in the premises of Manhardt house. A part of the premises, which have undergone a complete reconstruction, is an auditorium with 186 seats, a spacious stage and a café, which serves as the theatre foyer. The new modifications have also increased the standard of the interior and also the services offered to the spectators, an easy-access entrance has been made.

Theatre was played here in as early as the first half of the 18th century. The house and auditorium were then owned by aristocrat Johann Friedrich Manhardt. There were originally 2 auditoriums above each other, the ceiling was later pulled down and the space as we know it today was created.

The Theatre in Celetná is an independent theatre, where Czech professional troupes Kašpar, CD 2002, Veselé skoky, Společnost dr. Krásy and others regularly take turns during the year. We play children´s performances on Sunday. In addition to this, our theatre welcomes guests – the Brno Theatre v 7 a půl, HaDivadlo, Petr Bezruč Theatre...
