Cernin Garden (Kolowrat)

Cernin Garden (sometimes wrongly called Kolowrat) is the most beautiful of all and displays the richest garden architecture. It was founded after 1784 by I. J. Palliardi for Marie Barbora Černínova, nee Schaffgotschova and the coat of arms of both families gives evidence of this. It is situated on the Sala Terrena on the uppermost terrace decorated with statues and vases. The garden displays stairways, covered balconies, terraces, balustrades, fountains and a small turret of the former bath. The monument of Hercules on one of the terraces has been preserved from the original decoration.
