Visiting "Mořský svět" to see the Largest Marine Aquariums in the Czech Republic
"Mořský svět" (Sea World) is a permanent exhibition of marine and also freshwater fish and other animals of the overall count of 360 species. The exhibition is located at the Praha's Výstaviště (Exhibition Grounds) in Praha 7. The exhibition has held a status of Zoological Garden since the year of 2006. This unique exhibition was originally opened in 2002, swallowed up 260,000 liters of water in total and contains 50 aquariums altogether, out of which the largest one has a volume of 100,000 liters and serves as a home for the two-meter long sand shark.
Two brand new aquariums were opened in December 2006. The first one holds a model of the Bounty ship and we would find over 200 species here, just to name a few: the morays, shark-stingray, or carpet-shark. The second aquarium holds a volume of 15,000 liters and is decorated with a model of the lighthouse from North Carolina, USA, which is occupied by a pack of predatory barracudas and the globefish. The newest aquarium is occupied by pearly nautili and horseshoe crabs, and worth of mentioning is another aquarium in a shape of the tube, where the visitors can admire the breeding stock of sensitive jellyfish.
Aside from the above-mentioned aquariums, the visitors can also see the 25-meters long coral cavern with the aquariums built directly into the rock, and a number of other aquariums occupied by marine and also freshwater fish and other species.
The entire complex impression is supplemented by a unique floor projection, which is sensitive to the movement and offers an incredible scale of various effects, which will be interesting to the smallest visitors in particular. The visitors can take home some of many souvenirs and memorable objects available.
