The Order of Servits operated in Bohemia as early as of 1360. This Monastery of Servite Order was founded in 1626 by the old Gothic Church of St. Michael. The Servites gradually bought up several burghers´ houses facing the Old Town Square and situated in the surrounding streets and built a Monastery in their place. The current outlook of the Monastery appears to originate in a late baroque reconstruction performed in 1767 by the constructor Antonín Müller. At that time a unique fresco ceiling was created in the baroque library hall of the Monastery, which is currently as a concert hall.
